Blue Ant Media Promotes Jamie Schouela to President, Canadian Media

Toronto, ON (January 8, 2018) – Blue Ant Media, an international content producer, distributor and channel operator, announced today the promotion of Jamie Schouela to President, Canadian Media.

In this role, Schouela will continue to oversee the strategic direction and operations of Blue Ant Media’s Canadian brands, including Love Nature, BBC Earth, Cottage Life, T+E, A.Side, Makeful, Smithsonian Channel Canada and HIFI. His portfolio includes multi-platform content development, original content commissioning, programming acquisitions and distribution across TV, digital and print, as well as the marketing, publicity, media sales and Blue Ant Plus arms of the division. Schouela also oversees relationships with all of Blue Ant Media national cable, IPTV and satellite partners.

Schouela joined Blue Ant Media in 2013 as EVP of Marketing & Communications. In this role, he managed all of the consumer and trade promotions for Blue Ant Media’s portfolio of brands across Canada and led the launches of Cottage Life Television, Smithsonian Channel Canada and Makeful. Schouela was also a key player in the rebrand of Oasis to Love Nature. In 2015, Schouela was promoted to EVP, Canadian Media. Highlights of recent accomplishments under Schouela’s leadership include the Canadian launches of BBC Earth and multi-platform music offering, A.Side, as well as the creation of a new social content studio, Blue Ant Plus, which specializes in creating custom social and digital content for brands.

Prior to Blue Ant Media, Schouela served as Vice-President, Marketing for Shaw Media, directing all marketing and communications activity for Global Television and its 19 specialty channels. He began his career at Alliance Atlantis where he helped build a number of networks including Showcase, History Television and BBC Canada. Schouela sits on the Board of Directors for Numeris and Polaris Music Prize. He is also a member of the Primetime Conference Advisory Board.
