Cannes, FR (October 17, 2016) – Blue Ant International, a division of Blue Ant Media and global leaders in 4K wildlife and nature content distribution, announced from MIPCOM today the sale of over 300 hours of UHD programming to broadcasters across Asia and Western Europe. This sales round-up includes new partnerships with AB Groupe for ULTRA NATURE (France), Le TV (Hong Kong), now TV (Hong Kong), Amazon Prime Video (Japan) and Autentic GmbH (Germany).

“With audiences around the globe gearing up to make the transition to UHD, Blue Ant International’s native 4K slate is in high demand, providing broadcasters who pioneer in the 4K space with stunning and cutting edge content for multiple platforms,” said Solange Attwood, SVP, Blue Ant International. “As leaders in the 4K distribution, we continue to provide our international clients with the support needed to handle 4K’s new workflows, QC processes and data management.”

Blue Ant International has sold 240 hours of UHD natural history content to AB Groupe for ULTRA NATURE (France). The two-year deal sees the distributor delivering 200 hours of documentaries, as well as 40 hours of wildlife and nature scenes.

Le TV (Hong Kong) picked up an array of series from Blue Ant International amounting to over 20 hours sold. Highlights of the sale include The Big Feed (13×30’ 4K), a series that goes behind scenes, into the world’s top zoos, to witness what it takes to feed thousands of animals a day.

Blue Ant International has also secured the sale of over 60 hours of programming to now TV (Hong Kong) including 4K series, Kenya Wildlife Diaries (6×60’ 4K) which showcases The Lewa Reserve in Mount Kenya, home to 1500 animals including some of the rarest and most dangerous species on earth. Other UHD wildlife and nature series that this broadcaster has purchased include; Undiscovered Vistas (14×60’ 4K), Extreme Africa (6×60’4K) and Mysteries Of Evolution (6×30’ 4K).

Also of note, Amazon Prime Video (Japan) has acquired four series from Blue Ant International’s expanded UHD catalogue. To start, the distributor has sold Great Parks of Africa (6×60’4K), a six-part series illustrating the remarkable diversity of the continent’s epic parks. Another highlight of the sale includes Africa’s Wild Horizons (6×60’4K), a stunning series that takes viewers on a journey across the Serengeti, down the Mara River and over the forests of Ruaha National Park.

Rounding out these sales include Autentic GmbH (Germany) channel’s purchase of Nomads of the Serengeti (5×60’4K). The series introduces veteran safari guide Jean Du Plessis as he takes audiences on an exhilarating trip through the Serengeti with migrating wildebeest.
