
(Toronto, ON, December 1, 2016) – Blue Ant International, a division of Blue Ant Media and leaders in premium content, have secured new sales across Asia-Pacific in advance of Asia Television Forum (ATF). More than 500 hours of 4K and HD content from Blue Ant International’s expanding slate of premium specialist factual, factual entertainment, lifestyle series, high impact documentaries and formats will land on channels across the region.
“Asia-Pacific remains a key growth market across all platforms for our premium content offering. The success of our existing slate is growing in both 4K and HD sales and we continue to look for new co-production opportunities in the region,” said Solange Attwood, SVP, Blue Ant International.
National Geographic Channel International (Asia) has picked up two lifestyle series from Blue Ant International, including all three seasons of What’s For Sale? (39×30’HD), a series that shows potential homebuyers a selection of different houses with jaw-dropping views. Other lifestyle series sold to this broadcaster is Fish of the Day (10×30’HD), a series that features host Clarke Gayford and the world’s best rodmen, as they turn unique catches into breathtaking culinary creations.
Several hours of wildlife and nature content has been purchased across Asian territories by Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific. In India, this broadcaster picked up Land of Gremlins (3×60’4K & HD), a series that explores the exotic island of Madagascar and its extensive evolutionary history. Other wildlife and nature fan favourites, Mystery of Evolution (6×60’4K & HD), Attack and Defend (6×30’4K & HD) and Wildlife Icons (8×60’4K & HD) were added to the sale. In addition to India, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific picked up Land of Primates (8×60’4K & HD) in Japan and Coastal Africa(4×60’4K & HD) was acquired for Taiwan.
In Asia, Scripps Networks Interactive picked up lifestyle series Post My Party (13×30’HD), which features professional event planner Lynzie Kent as she helps one lucky party host pull off an unforgettable event in each episode. This broadcaster also purchased Holiday Makeover (6×30’HD), another design series from Blue Ant International’s diverse slate.
In Thailand, Blue Ant International has an output deal with The Next Step Company, which sees the distributor delivering 300 hours of content annually to the broadcaster. Some key highlights of the deal include Africa’s Hidden Kingdoms (6×60’4K & HD), a series that explores the wonders of the most primitive plant and wildlife biomes found in Africa. Another series acquired is Living Beach (6×60’4K & HD), which highlights the world’s most unique and amazing beaches. In addition, Undiscovered Vistas (14×60’ 4K & HD), revealing some of the most beautiful places in the world, was picked up this broadcaster.
True Visions (Thailand) picked up reality series Kitty 911 (10×30’HD), which introduces viewers to cat sanctuary volunteers as they save kittens in crisis. The broadcaster also purchased Hope for Wildlife, Season 6 (13×60’HD) and Kenya Wildlife Diaries (6×60’4K & HD), a six-part series that features the Lewa Reserve in Zambia, home to 1500 animals including some of the rarest and most dangerous on earth.
Vietnam-based Vietba Media acquired an array of content from Blue Ant International’s catalogue. Key highlights of the deal include Volcanic Odysseys (4×30’HD), a fascinating and adrenaline-fuelled exploration of the world’s mightiest mountains; Great Blue Wild (14×60’4K & HD) which features the world’s leading marine ecologists as they uncover ocean secrets and fight to defend endangered animals; and fan-favourite series, The Weapon Hunter (6×60’HD), following expert swordsman Paul Shull as he searches for North America’s finest military specimens and most collectable artefacts.
