(Toronto, ON, March 9, 2016) – BBC Earth is premiering another highly anticipated landmark wildlife series narrated by Sir David Attenborough that gives viewers never-before-seen footage of some of the animal kingdom’s most determined, specialized and cunning predators and their equally elusive prey. The series takes an intimate look at the remarkable tactics of hunters and the how the hunted animals respond which determines whether they are successful in their survival. The strategies of both predators and prey are shaped by where they live, so each episode in this seven-part series centers on one of our planet’s key habitats, from open grasslands and dense forests to the Arctic and the open ocean. Many of the stories include rarely seen animal behaviour such as polar bears using meltwater pools in the ice to stalk seals; Arctic foxes leaping to catch auks mid-flight; and killer whales hunting humpback whale calves in tropical waters.
The Hunt was executive produced by Alastair Fothergill (Frozen Planet, Planet Earth, The Blue Planet) with Huw Cordey (North America, South Pacific, Planet Earth) acting as series producer.
The series will premiere during BBC Earth’s nationwide free preview event. Find additional information about programming and scheduling at BBCEarth.ca.
