Sales across Germany include 80+ hours of programming sold to Discovery Communications including UFOs: The Lost Evidence and the pre-sale of fan favourite Paranormal Survivor, Season 4, currently in production

(Cannes, FR – April 9, 2018) – Blue Ant International, a transatlantic distributor of premium content and division of Blue Ant Media, announced from MIPTV 2018 today its latest crop of German sales from its premium factual entertainment and documentary offerings. More than 140 hours of programming will land on premium linear television channels across Germany via the distributor’s roster of high profile content providers.

Discovery Communications (Germany) has acquired a crop of factual entertainment programming, sure to captivate fans of the supernatural and reality television, including Our House Media’s Paranormal Survivor (Seasons 1-3; 30×60’; HD), which introduces audiences to people who have experienced paranormal encounters, with dramatic recreations luring viewers back to the scene. As part of this purchase, Blue Ant International has also pre-sold Season 4 (10×60’; HD) of Paranormal Survivor, which is currently in production. Sales to Discovery Communications also include three additional Our House Media-produced series: Haunted Case Files (13×60; HD), which introduces thrill-seekers to North America’s ghost hunters and mediums who recount their scariest experiences; Scariest Night of My Life (13×60’; HD), which reveals some of the most terrifying stories imaginable, as ordinary people recount the scariest night of their lives, reliving truly frightening supernatural encounters; and Airport Below Zero (10×60’; HD), a behind-the-scenes look at the world’s fastest growing major airport and the hardest working team in international travel managing to keep it all together. Rounding out the sale is UFOs: The Lost Evidence (6×60’;HD), produced by Meglomedia, which gives chilling accounts of current and former government officials, pilots, astronauts and astrophysicists that reveal new evidence of UFO contact.
Adding more than 35 hours of programming from Blue Ant International’s factual entertainment library is ProSiebenSat.1. One of the biggest broadcasters in Europe has secured Brojects, Seasons 1-3 (39×30; HD), which features brothers and reno masters, Kevin and Andrew as they create the coolest, most extreme renovations to their weekend getaway home; as well as the Brojects spin-off series, Brojects In The House, Seasons 1 and 2 (26×30’; HD). Adding to the sale is Warships (6×60), a six-part docu-series that follows the daily events and real-life stories of the brave men and women living and working on warships and Architect Films’ Extreme Collectors (14×30’; HD), which features host Andrew Zegers touring through meticulously cared-for collections in homes all across North America.
ZDF has picked up Canada: The Story of Us (10×60; HD), produced by Bristow Global Media, which features groundbreaking CGI and a cast of celebrity interviews that takes viewers inside Canada’s biggest stories in celebration of the country’s transformative history and uniquely diverse identity. ZDF has also acquired Valley of Flood and Fire (3×60; 4K and HD), which was created in partnership between Love Nature and Plimsoll Productions, as part of their celebrated 4K natural history project, Camp Zambia. Showcasing the intense seasonal changes of Luangwa Valley, Valley of Flood and Fire showcases the heavy rains that transform the Luangwa River from a shallow channel into a majestic waterway where grass grows tall and streams fill with an abundant selection of creatures, providing plentiful food for many grazing mouths.
German factual specialist Autentic GmbH has snapped up The Cowboy (2×45’; HD) for its channel Spiegel Geschichte. Produced by Network Entertainment, the series gives viewers a thrilling ride through the American West as immortalized by some of Hollywood’s greatest stars like Clint Eastwood, John Wayne and Steve McQueen; great directors like Eastwood, John Ford and Sergio Leone; and the exciting history of the Western movie.
German and French-speaking European channel, Arte, has opted for Love Nature’s original documentary, Alaskan Summer (1×60’; 4K and HDR). Shot in stunning HDR, Alaskan Summer reveals the vibrant majesty of Alaska’s breathtaking coves, bays and inlets that showcase the rugged beauty of Baranof Island to the Glacier Bay, where humpback and killer whales navigate the calm waters among towering glaciers and soaring mountains.
Docs de Cologne has picked up Markham Street Films’ crime documentary, Fight for Justice: David and Me (1×90’; HD), which follows the journey of the wrongfully convicted David McCallum, who was only 16 when he was sent to prison for life.
RTL has picked up two Love Nature original series, for its German Pay TV channel, from Blue Ant International’s celebrated 4K offering: Wild Israel (5×60’; 4K and HD), which takes viewers on a breathtaking journey atop the highest peaks and lowest valleys, while revealing Israel’s best kept ecological secrets; and Wild Survivors (3×60’; 4K and HD), which takes a look at the relationship between animals and their environment, revealing the various ways each impacts the other.
