New ad-supported, free linear Love Nature channel to reach 45 million U.S. households

(Washington, DC – May 7, 2020) – Love Nature, a family-friendly wildlife and nature brand with online and linear platforms reaching 200 million homes around the world, announced today its launch on the free, ad-supported streaming service, XUMO. The deal represents Love Nature’s official debut in the U.S. market as a linear channel and VOD destination and will give XUMO’s viewers access to a sampling of the brand’s award-winning wildlife and nature programming. This partnership is an extension of Blue Ant Media’s existing relationship with the streaming service, which includes the recently launched gaming channel, Arcade Cloud and children’s nature channel, ZooMoo, on the platform.
Love Nature is XUMO’s first-ever, dedicated wildlife and nature-based channel and joins a growing roster of more than 190 channels, currently available in 45 million U.S. households across a multiscreen network of smart TVs, mobile devices and streaming boxes.
“Our partnership with XUMO is significant as it marks our entry into the US linear channel market with the Love Nature brand,” says Ward Platt, CEO, Kids & Global Networks, Blue Ant Media. “We’re committed to bringing our compelling original series and documentaries to wildlife and nature fans everywhere. Partnering with a premium AVOD service like XUMO helps us achieve this goal and speaks to the strength of storytelling our content provides.”
“I’m personally a huge fan of wildlife content and Love Nature has some of the most enchanting and visually spectacular programming in the business,” says Anthony Layser, VP of Content Partnerships and Programming, XUMO. “Bringing the Love Nature channel to XUMO offers a highly appealing new dimension to our service and expands our successful partnership with Blue Ant Media.”
Love Nature programming highlights on XUMO include: Animal Senses (6 x 30’; Blue Ant Studios), a series that examines how animals have evolved powerful senses to thrive in their environments, such as turning mechanical waves, airborne particles and photons into information that helps them find food, shelter and mates; Arabian Inferno (5 x 60’; Blink Films), which follows iconic desert creatures and the unique ways they’ve adapted to the parched and barren landscape of the Arabian Peninsula, where a natural world continues to flourish; and Deadly Australians (4 x 60’; Wildbear Productions), an up-close-and-personal look at the secret lives of Australia’s most notorious killers, including venomous snakes, deadly jellyfish, monster crocs and venom-laden spiders.
The United States is one of 90 countries in which Love Nature is now available as a linear or online platform. The channel reaches more than 200 million homes worldwide on traditional pay-TV platforms such as Sky, Rogers, Virgin, Starhub, Bell, Ziggo Vodafone, Tricolor, TVB MySuper TV, Startimes and many more as well as growing streaming outlets like The Roku Channel, Amazon Channels, Bilibili, Apple Plus, Pluto TV and Samsung TV Plus.
