Love Nature Continues its EMEA Expansion with Launch on LES BOUQUETS CANAL+ Afrique

14 June 2020

Africa’s Hunters, a Camp Zambia series produced by Plimsoll Productions, is one of the many Love Nature original commissions slated for the channel’s launch on LES BOUQUETS CANAL+ in Africa

(London, UK – June 15, 2020) – As part of its ongoing expansion in the EMEA regions, Love Nature, an online and linear wildlife and nature channel that reaches an audience of 200 million viewers across more than 100 countries around the world, announced today its launch on Pay-TV platform, LES BOUQUETS CANAL+, in more than 25 African countries. The deal further expands the Love Nature brand in Sub-Saharan Africa, giving LES BOUQUETS CANAL+ subscribers access to an extensive line-up of original, English-language programming, including hundreds of hours of stunning wildlife and nature series and documentaries.

“Bringing Love Nature to Canal+ audiences is a significant milestone for the channel as we expand the family-friendly brand’s footprint across Africa,” says Ward Platt, CEO, Global Networks & Kids, Blue Ant Media. “This deal is a great example of our commitment to partnering with platforms around the world to give our premium wildlife and nature programming content a truly global audience.”

“We are delighted to bring a new international channel within the LES BOUQUETS CANAL+ offering. Love Nature reinforces our discovery channels’ offering, bringing more series and documentaries dedicated to nature. This new content will be very appreciated by our subscribers in African countries,” says Alexandre Gruner, SVP Channels Acquisitions and Partnerships, CANAL+ INTERNATIONAL.

Love Nature is now available as linear and streaming platforms in more than 100 countries and reaches more than 200 million homes worldwide on traditional pay-TV platforms such as Sky, Rogers, Virgin, Starhub, Bell, Ziggo Vodafone, Tricolor, TVB MySuper TV, Startimes and many more as well as growing streaming outlets like The Roku Channel, Amazon Channels, Bilibili, Apple Plus, Pluto TV and Samsung TV Plus.

Love Nature programming highlights on LES BOUQUETS CANAL+ in Africa include several award winning, original commissions: Malawi Wildlife Rescue (6 x 60’; 4K & HDR; Icon Films) provides a look inside the country’s only wildlife rescue centre that cares for injured and abandoned animals until they are ready to be released back into the wild; Dogs with Extraordinary Jobs (5 x 60’; Oxford Scientific Films), a five-part docuseries that explores the extraordinary jobs four-legged friends undertake across the globe; and Amazing Animal Friends (6 x 60’; Oxford Scientific Films), a heart-warming look at unlikely animal friendships like a rhino and a lamb and an elephant who thinks she’s a buffalo, which will premiere on the channel on June 28.

The channel’s line-up will also feature exclusive content from Love Nature’s celebrated Camp Zambia programming, which includes Africa’s Hunters (18 x 60’; Plimsoll Productions), an engrossing, character-driven look at the lives of some of Zambia’s most formidable predators – lions, leopards and hyenas; and The Big Dry (3 x 60’; Plimsoll Production), a three-part series, shot in one of Africa’s last great wildernesses: The Luangwa Valley in Zambia. The series details the challenges wildlife in the valley must overcome during the long dry season as they await the life-giving rains.

Love Nature is a family-friendly wildlife and nature brand that brings audiences powerful stories about the natural world that foster a deeper understanding of and connection to the planet we call home. Our award winning library of 4K and HDR series and documentaries are available on Love Nature’s branded linear and streaming platforms around the globe and through partnerships with top-tier pay-TV platforms and streamers, reaching over 200 million households worldwide.
