(Toronto, ON – June 29, 2021) – If chocolate wasn’t desired enough already, this month, Makeful TV’s sweet new series The Hairy Bikers’ Chocolate Challenge (5×60’) will leave viewers craving s’more. Hosted by The Hairy Bikers, Dave Myers and Si King, alongside award-winning chocolatier Ruth Hinks, the show features seven amateur chocoholics as they enter the real world of a chocolate factory to reinvent a confectionery classic. Each week, the wannabe Willy Wonkas will compete for a money-can’t-buy prize: the chance to create a brand new version of one of Britain’s most popular chocolate bars, Kit Kat, that will be manufactured and sold by one of the biggest chocolate companies in the world, Nestlé. Battling it out through various chocolate-filled challenges, the contestants will have to show incredible edible imagination, a flair for design and marketing and a mastery of technique. Who will have the skills to realize their chocolate ambitions and who will see their dreams melt away? The seven chocolatiers are faced with their first task, creating a chocolate-based sculpture to represent their hometown. As they grapple with their structures and chocolate techniques, they soon realize it’s not as easy as it looks. With some hard lessons learned, the contestants have one last chance to impress the judges before one of them faces elimination. In a race against the clock, the competitors let their imaginations run wild as they design their own chocolate bars and wrapping from scratch, something none of them have ever done before.

This week, the first-time confectioners are challenged with creating bite-sized chocolates based on their favourite desserts. Then, the second test pushes the group’s design capabilities to the limit as they attempt to create and brand their own version of a chocolate assortment tin. Fighting for their future in the competition, the chocolatiers find unique sources of inspiration ranging from music festivals to school diners and turn their original concepts into market-ready tins with mouth-watering chocolates inside.
