(Toronto, ON – September 22, 2021) – T+E’s new original two-part documentary special Bathsheba: Search For Evil (2×60’) ventures back-in-time to recognize one of the most insidious demonic possessions as it shows audiences the chilling true story behind James Wan’s supernatural horror film and worldwide phenomenon, The Conjuring. The documentary special begins on the present-day Arnold Estate. As activity continues to be felt in the home today, paranormal investigator Erin Goodpipe, quelling her own fear, travels to the Rhode Island farmhouse to explore claims made in the Hollywood movie starring Vera Farmiga. Bathsheba: Search For Evil sets the record straight on the Perron family’s true story versus the Hollywood happy ending and unearths archives of the world famous paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, who attempted to help them. The entire Perron family were terrorized by an evil paranormal presence, a 19th-century ghost believed by many to be a witch named Bathsheba Sherman, who allegedly haunted generations of families that had taken residence within her remote grounds. Anchored by first-hand accounts from the living Perron family members, Bathsheba sets out to separate fact from fiction, discovering the truth that lies beneath the blockbuster film. The world broadcast premiere of Bathsheba: Search For Evil airs Monday, October 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT during T+E’s highly-anticipated annual Creep Week event, running from Saturday, October 9 to Sunday, October 17.

Bathsheba Sherman, born 1812, was on the surface, a normal farm wife, but rumours defined her. Myths claimed she was malicious, demonizing her. The townspeople hated her, believing she killed a baby with a sewing needle and sacrificed it to the devil in exchange for eternal youth and beauty. But, others speculate she was misrepresented. Whatever truth exists, Bathsheba’s spirit remains and is restless. Perhaps, because of false accusations beyond the grave or possibly, because she really is malevolent.
Bathsheba: Search For Evil breathes new life into an old story. In addition to still-living witness accounts, viewers who tune-in to Bathsheba: Search For Evil on Monday, October 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, can look forward to terrifying encounters and recreations, hearing from the farmhouse’s current owners Cory and Jennifer Heinzen, local historians and paranormal expert insights.
