(Toronto, ON – October 13, 2021) – This October, BBC Earth is back with Serengeti II (6×60’), a follow-up to 2019’s hit docu-series that explores the dramatic day-to-day happenings of animals living in Tanzania’s Serengeti. The docu-series takes audiences back to a spectacular setting in an unspoiled corner of Africa, revisiting some favourite faces from the first series installment. Narrated by Academy Award®-winning and Emmy® nominated actress Lupita Nyong’o, the pioneering docu-series captures the dramatic and emotional interconnected stories of majestic Savannah animals and their day-to-day lives. There’s humour, heartbreak and nail-biting tension as new characters move in and the familiar cast continue their stories, showcasing the moments that prove each day of survival a feat. Bakari the baboon struggles with family life; Kali the lioness makes a difficult decision; and a family of leopards arrive–the adorable and adventurous cubs test their mother’s patience as they get used to their new home. Serengeti II immerses audiences in the complex relationships, thrilling battles and tender moments that punctuate the lives of nature’s most captivating characters. The Canadian broadcast premiere of Serengeti II airs Sunday, October 31 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, exclusively on BBC Earth.
BBC Earth in Canada is also available on Amazon Prime Video with Serengeti II airing simultaneously on the live linear platform from Sunday, October 31 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with new episodes rolling out weekly. Each episode will also be available in VOD format.
