Blue Ant Expands BeddyByes Global Consumer Products Programme Ahead of UK Retail Launch

9 September 2026

Penguin Random House Children’s Licensing and Random House Kids join as global publishing partners, alongside global master toy partner Moose Toys, with books and plush launching beginning in October 2026

BeddyByes Retail Launch

BeddyByes: Time for BeddyByes from Penguin Random House Children’s Licensing and Random House Kids, and the BeddyByes Plush Friends collection from Moose Toys

LONDON, ENGLAND – September 9, 2026 – Blue Ant Media today announced the expansion of the BeddyByes consumer products programme with Penguin Random House Children’s Licensing in the UK, under the Ladybird imprint, and Random House Kids in the US, joining as the preschool brand’s global publishing partners, alongside global master toy partner Moose Toys.

The expansion comes as the first BeddyByes products prepare to launch at UK retail, with Moose Toys plush and Penguin Random House Children’s books set to roll out beginning in October 2026.

In the UK, the programme will extend beyond toys and publishing into apparel through licensees including TDP Textiles, with products planned to launch later this year.

Following strong audience performance for BeddyByes on BBC iPlayer and CBeebies, Blue Ant Media is taking a phased approach to the brand’s consumer products expansion, prioritizing products and partners that extend BeddyByes naturally into play, storytelling and families’ everyday routines. All of the BeddyByes episodes together brought in 3.7 million viewing hours on BBC iPlayer in their first 28 days of availability, and since then, performance has only grown, well more than doubling to 10.4 million viewing hours.

“BeddyByes is a trusted everyday companion for families, and our consumer products strategy is designed to extend that role into meaningful moments throughout a child’s day,” said Vienna Downes, VP and General Manager, Consumer Products, Blue Ant Rights and Streaming. “Moose Toys and Penguin Random House Children’s give us a strong global foundation in play and publishing, while our growing UK partner roster will bring BeddyByes into more of the routines families already share. We are building a thoughtful, connected programme with partners who understand the brand’s purpose and can help us deepen that trust and grow the brand over the long term.”

The UK retail rollout will begin in October with a Moose Toys collection featuring an assortment of MeMo, BaBa and Yummy Dog plush, including talking versions of MeMo and BaBa and a large Yummy Dog plush. The collection will be available at major UK retailers including The Entertainer, Argos, and Amazon.

On October 22, 2026, BeddyByes: Time for BeddyByes will launch in the UK from Penguin Random House Children’s Licensing under the Ladybird imprint, and Random House Kids in the US. The interactive tabbed board book follows MeMo and BaBa through PlayTime, YummyTime, BrushyTime and StoryTime before they settle down for bed.

Three additional titles will follow in early 2027: BeddyByes: My First Little Library, BeddyByes: Rainbows and BeddyByes: MeMo and BaBa’s Friends: A Tabbed Board Book. The books are available to pre-order now.

Created by JAM Media co-founders John Rice and Alan Shannon, BeddyByes follows best friends MeMo and BaBa through the familiar rhythm of a young child’s day on the magical Planet BeddyByes. As each story unfolds, the lighting dims, the music softens and the pace slows, creating a gentle transition from playtime to dreamtime. The 52 x 11-minute CG-animated preschool series was developed in consultation with early childhood development expert Dr Jacqueline Harding and is narrated by Dawn French as Gramma Leeba.

The fall campaign includes a partnership with parenting expert Heidi Skudder, featuring podcast and social content that connects BeddyByes with everyday family routines, from the transition back to school to the clocks changing. The expansion is managed by Blue Ant Media’s in-house Marketing and PR teams, driven by specialist agencies Highlight PR and Kids Industries, with Bulldog Licensing serving as the property’s UK licensing agent.
