2016 Fall Cottage Life Show Brings Trade Secrets to Your Fingertips October 21 to 23 at The International Centre

(Toronto, ON, October 12, 2016) – Those looking to get a head start on next year’s cottage plans are sure to find inspiration at the 2016 Fall Cottage Life Show, returning to The International Centre in Mississauga, Friday, October 21 to Sunday, October 23. For attendees planning a significant rebuild, a small renovation or simply looking to enjoy their retreats year-round, the Fall Cottage Life Show has everything from boats to docks to furniture, arts and décor, building products and more.
With more than 225 exhibitors and speakers providing expert advice ranging from cottage and country home renovations, and ownership and real estate trends to building and conservation tips and interior design, this year’s show is dedicated to educating, assisting and inspiring cottage enthusiasts to “do-it-yourself”.
Special features of the three-day show will include an all-new Cottage Games area, a walk-through model cottage, a dock party, live demonstrations and special appearances from Cottage Life TV’s Dave Depencier from Reno My Reno and Cynthia Zamaria from Cynthia Zamaria Design.

2016 FALL COTTAGE LIFE SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:
The Model Cottage– A brand new cottage concept will be making its debut at this year’s Fall Cottage Life Show. Step inside and get the first look tour of The Halö, one of the latest designs from Bonneville Homes Micro-Loft Series. A contemporary blend of simplicity and efficiency, this modern retreat will feature impressive amenities and groundbreaking functionality packed into less than 1,000 square feet of living space, complete with furniture and accessories from show exhibitors. The model cottage will feature the interior styling expertise of Peterborough-based Lakeshore Designs, using décor and furnishings found on the show floor.
The Main Stage – Learn from industry experts speaking on a variety of topics daily to help make the most of your cottage life. Dave Depencier, host of Cottage Life TV’s Reno My Reno will share the dos and don’ts of DIY renovating and provide valuable advice for anyone looking to take on their own project. Matt Logan, an ISA-certified arborist will educate attendees on tree care and modern tree practices, while brothers Andrew and Benton Brown will provide tips on alternative energy and myths and facts surrounding geothermal systems. Cynthia Zamaria, a Toronto-based designer, will show attendees how to make stylish décor for the cottage and JD Petit, featured in this month’s DIY issue of Cottage Life, will share how he designed and built a cottage from the ground up on a sustainable budget.
The Great Outdoors – Explore the wilder side of life on the lake, right in the heart of the city. Back by popular demand, the famous Haliburton Forest Sled Dogs will demonstrate what it’s like to experience a winter trail ride; Scales Nature Park will educate visitors on conservation efforts for a diverse group of reptiles, amphibians and fish; and the experts at Wild Ontario will stop by with some feathered friends including owls, falcons and more, answering all of your questions about wild birds. The Cottage Workshop – Watch a live building project from start to finish over three days of the Fall Cottage Life show, and learn all about how you can do it yourself! Handyman extraordinaire, Wayne Lennox will build a wood yard tool storage shed – an easy project for anyone to take on and perfect for those looking to add a little extra storage space to their backyard.
NEW Cottage Games – It’s all fun and games at the 2016 Fall Cottage Life Show! New this year, show goers can make time for some added amusement and friendly competition right next to the Dock Party – an interactive game area complete with Washer Toss, Bean Bag Toss, Four in a Row, Kubb and more. From old familiar favourites to new classics, kids and adults alike can join in on the fun.
