New docu-series produced by White Pine Pictures

(TORONTO – January 21, 2020) – Love Nature 4K announces the greenlight of its new natural history series, Wild Pacific Rescue (6×60’;4K). The series, produced by White Pine Pictures, will premiere on Cottage Life in Canada in Spring of 2021 and roll out across select Love Nature linear and streaming video platforms internationally. Blue Ant International will handle licensing opportunities worldwide, including the US.
Wild Pacific Rescue takes viewers on dramatic and emotional expeditions along the rugged, mountain-ringed coastline of the Pacific Northwest, with world-renowned veterinarian, Dr. Marty Haulena and his skilled team as they rescue and rehabilitate some of the ocean’s most extraordinary creatures. Orcas, sea lions, dolphins and sea turtles are just some of the threatened patients that Dr. Marty finds in the wild and treats at the Vancouver Aquarium’s Marine Mammal Rescue (MMR) Centre. Ocean Wise Conservation Association, the not-for-profit that operates the Vancouver Aquarium provides Wild Pacific Rescue with unique and exclusive access to its world-class facility. On any given day the MMR team could be disentangling a trapped California sea lion from a fishing net, administering antibiotics to a sick Orca from a moving Zodiac, or hand raising an orphaned sea otter pup.
“The stories in each episode highlight the passion the caregivers at the Vancouver Aquarium bring to their work and the deep connections they have with all animals,” says Carlyn Staudt, EVP, Love Nature 4K. “Wild Pacific Rescue’s breathtaking 4K footage immerses viewers in the beauty of the natural habitat as well as high stakes these wild mammals face.”
“We’re looking forward to making this premium specialist factual content available to broadcasters worldwide,” said Ludo Dufour, SVP, International Co-Productions and Sales, Blue Ant International. “The series provides an up-close look at the urgent threat to wildlife, while also giving viewers heartwarming stories that inspire hope.”
Wild Pacific Rescue is created and produced by White Pine Pictures in exclusive partnership with the Ocean Wise Conservation Association. The series was created by Andrew Munger and is produced by Peter Raymont and Munger. Overseeing the series for Cottage Life is Sam Linton, Head of Original Content, Blue Ant Media. James Manfull will executive produce the series on behalf of Love Nature. Blue Ant International handles the series licensing.
