TORONTO, November 9, 2016 – The Seasons Christmas Show will be returning to the International Centre from Thursday, November 18 to Sunday, November 20 with even more festive gifts, decorations and treats to make the holidays magic. New this year, attendees will be welcomed to the show with a stroll through the Makeful Market, a curated selection of creative artisans offering unique, handmade goods, inspired by the lifestyle brand, Makeful. Additional special features include holiday drink sampling at the Polar Bar, festive floral workshops with Kate Seaver, live musical performances all weekend long and a stellar lineup of main stage presentations from Lynn Spence, Owen Reeves and Makeful stars Melissa DiRenzo and Adjoa Duncan, to name a few.
2016 Seasons Christmas Show Highlights
Makeful Market – New this year is the Makeful Market is featuring handcrafted goods from 50 distinctive artisans who have been hand picked from hundreds of applicants to exhibit at this year’s show. The Makeful Market is the perfect place to find beautiful and unique gifts for the hard-to-buy people on everyone’s list.
The Main Stage – Get creative inspiration and invaluable entertaining tips from a variety of experts all weekend long. Lynn Spence makes holiday shopping simple by showing off fabulous finds from a selection of exhibitors on the show floor. Master Pastry Chef Adjoa Duncan, a host on Makeful’s Holiday Makeover and owner of Toronto-based bake shop, ps by prettysweet, will demonstrate creative gingerbread ideas. Melissa DiRenzo, a featured maker on bemakeful.com and editor of TheSweetEscape.ca, will be showing attendees how to add style and sparkle to their dining tables. The Marilyn Denis Show’s gardening expert Owen Reeves will present unique outdoor holiday arrangements and Toronto-based maker Cynthia Zamaria will show attendees how to make on-trend, handmade ornaments. Lorrie Everitt, Creative Director of Creative Bag will be offering a presentation on re-purposing wrapping paper into decorative items such as candle accents and book covers.
Holiday Workshop – Kate Seaver, celebrity florist, TV personality and owner of Kate’s Gardens will host workshops three times a day, showing attendees how they can achieve the picture perfect décor in magazines. Incorporating items found on the show floor, Kate’s free workshops include: Tree Decorating 101; Mantles, Bannisters & Bows and Tree Stands & Skirts.
Polar Bar – Cocktail aficionado and Toronto food and drink industry celebrity, Scott Rondeau, will be on hand at the new Polar Bar to offer up different cocktail and mocktail ideas for entertaining during the festive season. Located by the Makeful Market, the Polar Bar will also be the perfect place to sample a festive holiday beverage.
Redpath Sugar Stage – What would Christmas be without baking? Redpath Sugar will have expert chefs demonstrating how to bring its 12 Days of Sweets holiday ideas to life. All weekend long the Redpath chefs will be showing attendees easy-to-make and unexpected ideas from sugary tipped treats to simple baked classics with a twist.
Ontario Wood – The natural, rustic beauty of handcrafted wood products from serving bowls and jewellery to cutting boards and live-edge coffee tables will be showcased in the Ontario Wood feature area. Besides a bevy of truly unique wooden gift ideas, the area will feature a large map with more than 40 Christmas tree farms that are sustainable Ontario Wood partners.
Toy Mountain – Seasons Christmas Show is a proud supporter of The Salvation Army’s Toy Mountain. Attendees who bring an unwrapped gift will receive $3 off the price of admission at the door. Visitors also have the option of purchasing a gift on the show floor to donate. The Show’s goal is to be to fill up two large bins with toys to donate to this important charity initiative.
